Feature Friday - Velvet and Shag

It's inevitable...everytime I list something, I find something I want to buy :)   I love vintage clothing. However, since I can't always find things to fit me (I'm a plus sized gal), I love to shop vintage home decor.  We recently moved into a house built in the 50's and there are some rooms with poor lighting. I found this amazing Mid Century lamp that I'm currently drooling over. It would go great in my bedroom.  I found it in this cute little shop called Velvet and Shag.  She specializes in  "mid century period pieces that lend a nod to the "Mad Men" aesthetic".

Check out the lamp I found

So, I showed it to my hubby (so maybe he would surprise me and buy it...yeah, right!) and do you know what he says???? I love the owl! Typical man....lost focus on the main point. hahaha.  Although, the owl is a little cutie too.

Go check out her shop. Obviously, she has some pretty cool stuff! Here's the link to her website which has links to all her stores, FB, Twitter, Tumblr and her blog!

Treasury Challenge

Lady Lux Vintage is honored to be a part of a WONDERFUL Etsy team called the "Vintage Etsy Twitter Team" or the VETT.  We can't tell you how many friendships we've made by being part of such an awesome team. Our goal is  to help and promote each other. There are so many positive and friendly people on our team. We really could go on and on about all of them :)

Our team started a treasury challenge that will run until March 15th.  A treasury is a collection of items being sold from different sellers on Etsy that have a common theme and/or color.  Honestly, you can pretty much make it whatever you want. The goal is to make it look pretty.

Our challenge includes items being sold from members of the VETT on Etsy. The winner gets featured on our team blog and our team Facebook page!  We would totally love to win, but more importantly, we would love for one of our treasuries to make it to the front page of Etsy. That would give ALL of the teamies tremendous exposure, which is our ultimate goal! That's where YOU come in! If you follow Lady Lux Vintage on Twitter then you'll be able to see all our tweets about the treasuries being created for the VETT. All you have to do it click on them and comment on our treasuries! The more comments, the more popular our treasuries become. The more popular they become, the better our chance at getting on the front page of Etsy!

Here is just a sample of what they look like:

This was the first treasury Lady Lux Vintage (ldylux on Etsy) created. What do you think?
